Office is closed until further notice and services being offered by phone or email HEALING AND WELLNESS TEAM Aboriginal Healing and Wellness Coordinator (AHW) * Ensure that the healing and wellness needs of the Aboriginal community are addressed. Aboriginal Alcohol & Drug Worker Program (AADW) * To provide traditional and non-traditional addictions prevention, recovery and rehabilitation services. Aboriginal Community Mental Health Program (ACMH) * Provides culture based mental health services to Aboriginal people regardless of their legal definition. Cultural Resource Coordinator (CRC) * Provide, coordinate and support all junctures of cultural knowledge, promote cultural awareness, safety and competency while promoting healing and reconcilliation HEALTH TEAM Life Long Care Program (LLC) * To promote clients with the highest possible quality of life and personal independence * Provide support services for off-reserve Aboriginal Elder/Seniors as well as disabled or chronically ill people of all ages Aboriginal Health Outreach Worker (AHOW) * Provides linkage between Aboriginal families and health care system * Provides individual, group, family services to support Aboriginal Heatlh Urban Aboriginal Healthy Living Program (UAHLP) * Empowering individuals to live healthy, active lifestyles through sports, physical activities, recreation and healthy eating Kizhaay Anishinaae Niin Program (KANP) * Translates to "I Am A Kind Man" * Education for men to address issues of abuse against women, re-establishes traditional responsibilities through our teachings CHILDREN AND YOUTH TEAM Aboriginal Child & Youth Mental Health Awareness (AYCMHA) * Provides friendly and confidential support to children and youth up to age 18yrs that are struggling with mental health and/or addiction issues Aboriginal Healthy Babies Healthy Children - Ages 0-6 yrs (AHBHC) * Assist all Aboriginal families to provide the best opportunities for healthy development for children up to 6 years of age. AKWE:GO - Ages 7 - 12 yrs (AKWEGO) * Client / Referral Based Program * To improve the quality of life of at-risk urban Aboriginal children through the delivery of culturally appropriate services and programs. WASA-NABIN - Ages 13 - 18 yrs (WN) * Client / Referral Based Program * To provide a place to go for social connection, cultural awareness, support tools and health activities to encourage healthy lifestyle choices Urban Aboriginal Healthy Living - Healthy Kids - Ages 0-18 yrs (UAHL-HK) * Helps improve the health and well-being of Urban Aboriginal children and families to increase participation in sports, physical activity and healthy eating for a long healthy lifestyle EMPLOYMENT & TRAINING TEAM LATIY^TE'HTA?AS - Literacy Program (LIT) * Adult education program offering help to people (19 yrs and older) who wish to upgrade their education for personal reasons, employment or prepare for more training/education Apatisiwin Program (APAT) * To provide strength, promote self –reliance, enhance the unity of our people, and improve opportunities for meaningful employment Aboriginal/Indigenous Housing Advocate (AHA, IHA) * Supports Aboriginal community who are homeless or at risk of homelessness though client/referral based program Other: Information on obtaining Indian Status * call CAIFC for more information |
