| Description (Service) | Community Youth Centre * The Sandwich Teen Action Group is committed to providing programs for positive life experiences in a safe and caring environment, which enables youth to find support, cope with problems, and make responsible life choices. * founded in 1991 by two police officers, who set out to establish a place for area girls identified as at-risk for unplanned pregnancies. Programs and Services * Peer group meetings, to focus on life issues such as relationships, health, sexuality, date rape, etc. * Computer Resource Lab for project research, studying, internet access, etc. * Group recreation events like basketball, volleyball, floor hockey, etc. * Game rooms including pool tables, ping-pong, air hockey, foozeball, etc. * Crisis Intervention and Referral by our staff * Health, Fun, and Friendship Project-a self esteem boosting program * Mini-Theater room with VCR and Wide-screen TV * Homework Club, includes a healthy snack * Cooking Club * Boxing program * Personal fitness programs for males and females, including weight training * Volunteer opportunities * Weekly Youth Group meetings * Boys Groups and Girls Groups * Friday night Rec Club |
