Description (Service) | Language, Orientation and Welcoming Communities Programs for Newcomers * English Language Training: Literacy, Levels CLB 1-8 Childcare available for eligible participants * Orientation/Settlement Program: * Citizenship Test Preparation Workshop: (call for details) * Driving in Ontario Workshop: (call for details) * Orientation Information Workshops: Throughout the year (call for details) * Community Connection Groups: Youth (Homework Club, Rotary Youth Leadership, Youth Employment) Seniors (Conversation Circle) Women's (Arts & Crafts Club) Adults (Lunch N' Learn Conversation Circle) * Canada Connect Program: one-on-one and family matching newcomers to volunteers * Multicultural Health and Wellness: Nurse Practitioner Clinic Mental Health support (in partnership with Family Services Windsor-Essex) * After School Program for School-Age Children: Funded in partnership with the United Way Focusing on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) education and homework help |

Eligibility | * Immigrants and Refugees * Language Training/Orientation/Community Connections programs: Open to Permanent Residents of Canada, Convention Refugees or individuals with a special Minister’s permit or possess an eligibility letter for Permanent Residence from IRCC. * Newcomer Youth Leadership Program: 13-24 yrs in partnership with Rotary Club of Windsor (1918) * Newcomer Settlement Program (NSP): Open to individuals who are Refugee Claimants, Convention Refugees, Permanent Residents, Canadian Citizen not born in Canada, Minister’s Permit Holder, or a person who received permission to remain in Canada for the purpose of becoming a Permanent Resident * After School Program for children: 7-12 yrs in partnership with United Way * Nurse Practitioner Clinic: clients of the Multicultural Council who do not have a family doctor, regardless of age or gender. |
