Description (Service) | Centre for immigrant and visible minority women and their families * offer workshops and information sessions * culturally sensitive employment counselling by appointment * support services and counselling * information and referrals on social services, advocacy, community and government programs * child care available for clients * Extensive employment and career development related services in response to the career needs of individuals and the labour needs of employers. Programs on-site: * Employment Ontario Employment Services * Apprenticeship * Canada-Ontario Job Grant * Ontario Job Creation Partnerships * Second Career Job Creation Partnership paid placement and on-job training for EI recipient Youth Placement * youth-focused placement and training * job search, readiness and matching assistance for year-round long-term jobs Programd Offer: * Individual employment counseling and professional resume and cover letter writing * Labour market information and group workshops * Interview sessions with employers * Resource and Information Centre * Employment Incentives and paid work placements * Volunteer and networking opportunities * Assistance for laid-off workers to access Second Career and Ontario Job Creation Partnerships programs * Assistance in accessing the Apprenticeship program to gain your license or trade certificates * Other programs & services provided by MTCU Apprenticeship * provide incentives to individuals to upgrade their academic qualifications so they could pursue careers in trade and to employers to engage in apprenticeship training Canada-Ontario Job Grant * financial support for individual employers to purchase training for their employees * available to small, medium and large businesses planning to deliver short-term training for existing or new employees Ontario Job Creation Partnerships * an employment program that provides work experience to unemployed job seekers within projects that benefit the community or local economy Second Career Program * skills training and financial support for laid-off workers Services for Employers: * Access to FREE pre-screened international, highly qualified candidates from an array of professions, allowing you to make direct hiring decisions * Access to Ministry of Ontario Colleges and Universities’ programs and services, meet candidates and apply for Employer Signing Bonus and Employment and Training Incentives * Support in identifying and resolving workplace issues * Act and Interview Strategies information sessions * Free interview and meeting facility |

Description (Agency) | Windsor Women Working with Immigrant Women (WWWWIW) is a non-profit organization formed in 1982 by a group of women in the city of Windsor. These women realized that new Canadians have needs that are not catered to by the existing service centre in Windsor. The mission of the organization is to assist immigrant and refugee women and their families to become full and participating members of Canadian Society. |
