| Description (Service) | Not-for-profit peer support organization run by and for individuals who have been affected by mental illness * provides one-to-one and group peer support, education, and outreach * volunteers receive peer support training from CONNECT for Mental Health and/or the Ontario Peer Development Initiative Group Support Socials - An opportunity for individuals affected by mental illness to connect, socialize, and find emotional support * walking groups and recreational activities * check website or Facebook for details Wellness Recovery Action Planning (WRAP) - 8 week peer led program * individualized recovery strategies designed to maintain mental well being Peer Zone Workshops - peer-led workshops for people who experience mental distress and/or addiction * provides space to share experiences, and learn self-management Youth Education and Wellness Groups - 6 weekly sessions for youth 13-17 * students partake in group activities that focus on addressing mental health and applying wellness strategies * program is derived from PEARS Student Support Group - safe, non-judgemental way for graduate students to express personal struggles and solutions * offered at Western University * check website for details |
